Description

ABOUT US

We value each person as an individual, respect their aspirations and commitments in life, and seek to understand their priorities, needs, abilities and limits.

We take what others have to say seriously.

We are honest about our point of view and what we can and cannot do.

COMMITMENT TO QUALITY OF CARE

We earn the trust placed in us by insisting on quality and striving to get the basics right every time: safety, confidentiality, professional and managerial integrity, accountability, dependable service, and good communication.

We welcome feedback, learn from our mistakes and build on our successes.

MISSION

The Mission of WINACARE is to empower the disabled and vulnerable, by eliminating barriers and creating opportunities to succeed, enhancing the dignity and quality of life of individuals within our community.

VISION

The Vision of WINACARE is for every person to have access and choice to achieve his or her full potential and an improved quality of life, create fresh opportunities, empowering you to live your life to the fullest at home, and in your community.

COMPASSION

We respond with humanity and kindness to each person’s pain, distress, anxiety or need. We search for the things we can do, however small, to give comfort and relieve suffering. We find time for those we serve and work alongside. We do not wait to be asked, because we care.

IMPROVING LIVES

We strive to improve health and well-being and people’s experiences with our support staff. We value excellence and professionalism wherever we find it – in the everyday things that make people’s lives better at home.

WORKING TOGETHER FOR ALL

We put the people we support who are either vulnerable or who have a disability first in everything we do, by reaching out to staff, carers, families, communities, and professionals outside of WINACARE. We put the needs of our participants, families and communities before organisational boundaries.

EVERYONE COUNTS

We use our resources for the benefit of the whole community, and make sure nobody is excluded or left behind. We accept that some people need more help, that difficult decisions must be taken – and that when we waste resources, we waste others’ opportunities. We recognise that we all have a part to play in making ourselves and our communities healthier.

As A COMMUNITY BASED ORGANISATION WE SEEK A WORLD OF HOPE, A WORLD OF TOLERANCE AND SOCIAL JUSTICE AND A WORLD WERE PEOPLE LIVE IN DIGNITY WITH CULTURAL SAFETY.

Our Services:

In short, service provision at WinaCare Disability Services is assistance from a support worker selected through the principles of person-centred practice, that ensures our participants have had reasonable choice and control of the people that will provide supports. Which leads straight into another question, what does a support worker do?

Support work is an incredibly varied role. At WinaCare Disability Services support work means improving the quality of life for the people we support. Support work can assist with a person’s day-to-day living. This can mean personal care, manual handling, meal preparation and assistance eating. It can also mean cleaning and gardening! Support work can also assist with community and social inclusion. This can be transport to and from community or social events, assistance in public spaces, or helping to increase your capacity in the community. None of WinaCare Disability Services’ services are one size fits all, this is especially true when it comes to service provision.

At WinaCare Disability Services we understand that letting a support worker into your home and life is incredibly personal, doing so requires a lot of trust. We take the time to understand not only your needs, but who you are as a person. This allows us to provide the most tailored and personal service possible.”
